Client:

This state-wide non-profit that’s dedicated to ending childhood hunger, partners with in-home childcare providers, childcare centers, afterschool and summer programs, and schools to ensure children are getting the meals and nutrition they need.

Challenge:

In the process of ordering, tracking, and reporting meals delivered and served to children across the state, team members and service providers were spending too much time dealing with antiquated communication and tracking systems – leading to inefficiencies, delayed communications, wasted meals, and potentially, fewer children served.

Causes:

The existing administrative solution was complicated, inefficient, error-prone, and unscalable because it was a manual process that required…

  • Multiple Applications
  • Paper Forms
  • Scanning and Emailing
  • Multiple Spread Sheets
  • Repeated Data Re-Entry

Strategy:

Solution:

A single platform – called Summer and Afterschool Meals System (SAMS) – for comprehensive meal management that enables staff members and service providers to easily communicate and access information.
