Chief Executive Officer
Why are you an EDJEr?
“I am an EDJEr because I feel thankful & blessed every day to work with brilliant people – colleagues and clients – who I trust and admire.”
At Leading EDJE:
Joelle describes her role as, “helping create a fascinating (and FUN) work environment where people thrive as an exceptional team of experts, while sharing our unique story with those in need of innovative technology problem solving.”
Before Leading EDJE:
Joelle’s was a student athlete at Kent State, graduating Communications/Journalism, where she aspired to be in sports broadcasting. After a short stint as a field reporter, she quickly realized that you need to actually like the camera in order to have a career as a broadcaster. So, she changed careers – moving into the world of IT. Prior to founding Leading EDJE, Joelle built her career via roles at the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, Accenture, and Software Architects (SARK).
After Hours:
A golf “enthusiast,” Joelle plays every chance she gets. She’s also an avid lover of all sports (especially water sports) and enjoys hiking, biking, and most things fitness related (except running of course). Her love for wine takes her to wine country occasionally, and her love for the Caribbean has taken her to over 100 islands. Joelle's strong inner philanthropic desires allow her to exercise her personal mission statement of “Put others’ needs before my own” by supporting a large list of local and worldwide non-profit organizations.
Favorite Big Solve:
“We have so many remarkable client solves to choose from. However, I’d have to say my personal biggest Big Solve was keeping our team intact (and whole) while navigating through the global pandemic. While it was one of our largest challenges, it was also incredibly rewarding to see our team rally together to develop this particular Big Solve. Those uncertain times validated exactly what we set out to do when we started Leading EDJE – create an environment of exceptional people solving complex business problems. That’s precisely what our team did with utmost kindness, grace, and dignity.”

Why are you an EDJEr?
“Leading EDJE is by far the best company I have ever worked for. I heard great things from a friend who worked here before me, and I was so excited when I was offered the opportunity to be an EDJEr.”

Solutions Architect and Wizard
Why are you an EDJEr?
“Leading EDJE differentiates itself from other technology consulting firms by being the smartest, most problem-solving focused, and most passionate technologists in the industry. I am proud to be a member of such a group.”
At Leading EDJE:
As a wizard, Ed considers himself client agnostic. He explains: “This means that although I have a primary client, I also get to float between engagements and provide insights and expertise wherever needed. This also provides me a wonderful opportunity to learn from these different engagements to better assist in other opportunities.”
Before Leading EDJE:
Immediately before joining Leading EDJE, Ed was a development manager at IBM on the Watson Tooling Team. His group was charged with creating and maintaining the Watson AI system (the thing that played Jeopardy).
After Hours:
Ed’s favorite hobby is golf. (He even has an indoor simulator in his garage to practice whenever he can hit the links.) However, Ed says that most of his time is devoted to providing his four daughters with the greatest childhood he can possibly provide. From competitive cheer to competitive volleyball to traveling the country for horse shows, Ed is constantly on the move.
Favorite Big Solve:
“By far my favorite Big Solve has been creating the CI/CD process at my first project at Leading EDJE on the CAS STNext project. That team was amazing, and we blazed a trail for other projects at CAS. I was surrounded by brilliant problem solvers, and we all worked together to create an outstanding solution. Every time I get to brag about that project, I scream it from the rooftops.”
People Solutions Specialist
Why are you an EDJEr?
“Starting with the first interview, I realized being an EDJEr would allow me to make a real impact, and not just be another number. Ever since my first day, I’ve felt at home here, and that’s directly related to the caring environment our leadership has created.”
At Leading EDJE:
Onboarding, benefits, reviews, and more. Shay leads our strategic and day-to-day HR functions, but, as she says, “not in a corporate-y-HR-ish way.”
Before Leading EDJE:
Shay took one elective course on Human Relations in college, and instantly fell in love with the profession. Throughout her career, she has worked in almost every aspect of HR – generalist, recruiter, employee relations, retention analyst, and more.
After Hours:
In addition to being a huge Buckeyes and Steelers fan, Shay volunteers at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the Ohio State James Cancer Treatment and Research Center, helps take care of her two little sisters, and is currently working toward her Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership.
Favorite Big Solve:
“My favorite work-related big solve was shopping for and finding the right Human Resources Information System that would be best for our EDJErs. The one we chose (HiBob) has fully streamlined our onboarding process, eliminated multiple spreadsheets, and significantly reduced the need for a paper copy of files and records.”
